219 families have already taken part in the educational game "One, Two, Three - You Are A Varsovian", initiated by the Warsaw Uprising Museum. The game lasts until September 8, 2013 and is open to anyone interested. It is co-organized by 17 Warsaw institutions, including the Royal Castle, the National Philharmonic and The Citi Handlowy Leopold Kronenberg Foundation, which is also the patron of the project.
This year's 3rd edition of the game "One, Two, Three - You Are A Varsovian" involves visiting 8 of the 17 partner institutions and doing tasks indicated on cards assigned to each location. The goal of the game is to learn about 17 more or less well-known Warsaw heroes. And so, for example, at the National Museum, we get to know the works of Aleksander Gierymski, at the historical headquarters of Bank Handlowy w Warszawie S.A. the story of its founder, Leopold Kronenberg, at the National Philharmonic we learn more about the activities of Ignacy Paderewski, and at the Museum of Independence about the achievements of Roman Dmowski.
Although the game "One, Two, Three - You Are A Varsovian" is dedicated to the youngest residents of the capital, the organizers encourage entire families to take part. To participate in the game, you need to register through the website www.razdwatrzywarszawiak.pl. After registering you get a number by email, which after being entered in the "Card of Codes" will be used to correctly identify game participants. On the website under the heading "Download and Play" there are "Task Cards" to download - available in a basic version (for younger people) and an advanced version (for older people). You just need to download and print one card assigned to each institution that you plan to visit as well as the Card of Codes which, if filled out correctly, entitles you to collect a prize. The game involves visiting at least eight institutions of your choice and giving correct answers to questions contained in the Task Cards. After filling out each Task Card, you get a password, which along with the number of the institution, you need to enter in the Card of Codes. After completing each task and filling out the Card of Codes, you have to put them in a special box located in each of the participating institutions.
This year's "One, Two, Three - You Are A Varsovian" game is accompanied by two additional contests - for the most interesting blog about doing the tasks during the game and for the most interesting interview with our own hero. Details can be found on the project's website under "Additional Contests". In the near future, the organizers will post information about the Grand Finale, during which prizes will be awarded.
For the past two years, The Citi Handlowy Leopold Kronenberg Foundation has been a co-organizer of the city game "One, Two, Three - You Are A Varsovian" as part of the Employee Volunteering Program at Citi Handlowy. Last year's 2nd edition of the game, which focused on the history of sports, saw the participation of around 1700 people and 170 families who received prizes during the finale at the National Stadium.
The Employee Volunteering Program at Citi Handlowy is one of the largest and oldest initiatives of its type in Poland. The Citi Handlowy Leopold Kronenberg Foundation provides its volunteers with funds to cover costs associated with implementation of projects, and also supports them with regard to formalities and logistical matters.
