Cutting-edge equipment distributed across Poland - mobile ultrasound transducers, tablets for ultrasound devices and video laryngoscopes - will help healthcare professionals from the Emergency Services Support Foundation better diagnose patients exposed to COVID-19. Moreover, the purchased equipment will increase the comfort and safety of the emergency services when diagnosing patients. Mobile ultrasound is one of the first such solutions in Poland. The equipment will be purchased with the funds raised under the #SilentHeroes campaign, where employees of Citi Poland made donations to support medical staff. In addition, Citi Handlowy donated a specific amount to the Foundation for each FX transaction executed by its corporate clients.
The strong engagement of Citi employees in our aid activities has inspired us to raise awareness of the importance of our actions among our corporate clients. We are proud to be supporting Silent Heroes again today. We are truly grateful for their everyday efforts to ensure our safety and health. I am also happy that we managed to finance the purchase of cutting-edge diagnostic equipment, which will increase the quality and comfort of paramedics in their everyday work said Maciej Kropidłowski, Vice President of Citi Handlowy's Management Board, when handing over a check for professional diagnostic equipment to a representative of the Emergency Services Support Foundation
COVID-19 requires us to change the way we operate, also to use equipment we haven't had access to before. With the support we are able to improve the therapeutic management of patients with suspected COVID-19. A tablet-enabled mobile ultrasound device and a video laryngoscope open the door to world's best medicine stated Jan Stachurski, Deputy Head of the RK Emergency Services Support Foundation.
The #SilentHeroes campaign was launched in cooperation with Citi volunteers (#CitiVolunteers) during the first days of the pandemic. Thanks to the donations, we provided meals to over 350 paramedics from Warsaw and Olsztyn. With the support of the donors and Citi Handlowy and Citibank Europe Plc., which doubled the raised amount, we were able to prepare and deliver over 8,300 meals to the medical teams in need. Citi's support helped them survive the first, most challenging days in the new reality.

As part of a separate action, Citi Foundation allocated its funds to the purchase of personal protection equipment (respirators, FFP3 and FFP2 face masks, protective visors, coats and protective suits) for two hospitals in Warsaw and Olsztyn. The initiative was coordinated by the Polish Center for International Aid (PCPM), which also held a series of refresher trainings on treating COVID-19 for the medical staff working at these hospitals.
