Each month, with the support of specialists from Citi’s London branch and the local Investment Advisory Bureau, we introduce new Structured Bonds subscriptions and new Closed-End Funds.
Structured Products
As a Citigold Private Client you may choose from a wide range of structured products geared to maximize investment returns depending on the performance of the chosen market index, e.g. share price, stock market index, the price of raw materials and currency exchange rates. Our financial specialists can also design a structured product, tailored specifically to your individual needs and expectations.
Closed-end funds
At Citi Handlowy, investment certificates of closed-end funds managed by renowned international financial institutions are available exclusively to Citigold Private Client.
Investment products and unit-linked insurance products are available exclusively to holders of bank accounts with Citi Handlowy, provided that unit-linked insurance products with regular premiums are available also to Citibank Credit Card holders. Unit-linked insurance products and investment products, including investment funds, are neither a deposit nor an obligation, and they are not guaranteed by Bank Handlowy w Warszawie S.A. or any subsidiary or affiliate of Citigroup, save for investment products issued or guaranteed by Bank Handlowy w Warszawie S.A. or a Citigroup subsidiary or affiliate. In the case of investment products, it is the duty of the issuer of the investment product to protect the capital and/or to guarantee the interest, if applicable. The insurance contract is concluded between the Client and the insurer through the intermediation of the Bank. Bank Handlowy w Warszawie S.A. performs the role of an insurance agent and is entered in the register of insurance agents kept by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority under number 11120807/A. The Client can verify information with respect to the Bank’s entry in the register of agents by submitting an application to the Polish Financial Supervision Authority or on the PFSA website.
Investment products and unit-linked insurance products offered by the Bank are not guaranteed by the State Treasury, the Bank Guarantee Fund (save for amounts due under bank securities and dual currency investments covered by the statutory cash guarantee system pursuant to the provisions of the Act of 14 December 1994 on the Bank Guarantee Fund) or any other government institution.
Investment products carry investment risk, which includes the possibility of loss of the invested capital. When deciding to purchase or sell an investment product or a unit-linked insurance product, the Client should consider the risk inherent in the investment decision, in particular possible changes in pricing of the financial instruments pertaining to this decision against the Client’s expectations and the resulting failure by the Client to generate the planned profit.
Unit-linked insurance products carry an investment risk, including the possibility of partial loss of the invested capital.
The sums payable under insurance contracts are secured by the Insurance Guarantee Fund to the extent defined by the Act of 22 May 2003 on mandatory insurance, the Insurance Guarantee Fund and the Polish Motor Insurers’ Bureau (the Act on Insurance Guarantee Fund). This means that if an Insurer becomes insolvent in the cases defined by the Act on the Insurance Guarantee Fund (IGF), the Fund will satisfy in part the claims of the persons entitled to benefits under life insurance contracts in the amount of 50% of the sums payable, up to an amount not greater than the PLN equivalent of EUR 30,000.00. Under certain circumstances, the negotiability of the Fund Participation Units may be restricted or precluded. The value of the purchased Fund Participation Units may change depending on the developments in the financial markets and the changes in currency exchange rates. As a consequence, income from the invested funds may increase or decrease. This means that the sum paid out at the end of the investment period may be lower than the one originally invested. The historic performance of investment funds, investment portfolios, stock indices, foreign exchange rates and insurance capital funds determining the profitability of the investment made does not constitute a guarantee of their future performance.
The tax on capital gains (including tax on interest) shall be borne by the Client. The Bank shall collect, on behalf of the Client, tax dues or withholding tax only when the duty to collect such tax can be expressly derived from the applicable regulations of Polish law in this respect or from the double taxation agreements to which Poland is a party.
The Bank is not an entity authorised to interpret tax law provisions or to provide tax advisory services within the meaning of the Act on Tax Advisory Services; therefore, the above information cannot be treated as a tax opinion.
