Changing the method of online transaction authorization for Business Accounts.


From December 8th, the method of authorizing payments by debit card for online purchases for Business Account holders will change. When authenticating the transaction, you will receive an SMS with a link to log into the Citibank® Online electronic banking system to authorize the transaction.

  1. When paying for online purchases, select the card as the payment method and enter the required card details as before. Information on the method of authorization and details of the transaction will appear on the next payment screen.
  2. According to the instruction displayed on the screen, you will receive an SMS with a link to the authentication page to the phone number saved in the Bank's system. Click on the link in the SMS - you will be redirected to the Citibank® Online login page.

    PLEASE NOTE! The link can only be used once. Another click will automatically reject the transaction.
  3. Check the details of the transaction, enter your Citibank® Online login details on your phone and and click "Next". PLEASE NOTE! Remember that in order to authenticate a payment transaction with a card to a business account, you must enter the username and password for the business account.
  4. Then you will receive a second SMS - with a one-time code code used to authorize the transaction. On the phone screen, a field for entering - a code will appear - the first 6 characters of the SMS code will be completed. Enter the last 6 characters from the code received in the SMS in the dedicated field and click "Authorize"
  5. Authorization is completed.

The change of the authorization method applies to all payments for online purchases made with a debit card to the Business Account. Other online transactions - e.g. transfers, will be authorized using the current method - with a one-time SMS code, without the need to log into Citibank® Online.
