Apple Pay may be used by the User of a card:

No. This service is only available on Apple devices running iOS (iPhone, iPad), watchOS (Apple Watch) or macOS (iMac/MacBook). It is not available, for example, on Android or Windows-enabled Mobile devices.

Payment security depends on technical safeguards used by entities involved in the processing of a payment and the client’s compliance with the rules of protection of the data and device used to initiate a payment.

When paying with Apple Pay, the card details are not stored in the device memory or on Apple servers, and are not made available to sellers during transactions. During a transaction, an Apple device introduces itself on the network using a token, i.e. the device account number that represents a card on the device. Such token is generated during registration of such card in Apple Pay. When using Apple Pay, Apple does not store transaction details that could be linked with the buyer. Transaction details are only exchanged between you, the seller (or the app developer), the payment organization and the bank. Apple Pay transactions are additionally secured, depending on the method you use to unlock the phone, with your fingerprint (Touch ID), face scan (Face ID) or PIN (Passcode), which are also used for the preliminary authorization of your transaction.

Critical security aspects include the appropriate protection of the phone used to initiate payments and the data that make it possible to initiate transactions. Please remember to comply with the security rules specified by the Bank, including the procedures required in case a phone is lost or other persons are in possession of data that make it possible to execute transactions.

To avoid unauthorized transactions, a User of Apple Pay must comply with the following do's and dont’s:

• keep confidential the password and access codes to the Apple device, including to Apple Pay;
• do not disclose the data on a Card for any purposes other than the registration of the Card in Apple Pay;
• properly secure the Apple mobile device on which a Card is installed against loss, theft or destruction;
• do not make available the Apple device on which a Card is registered in Apple Pay to any third parties;
• do not keep biometric data of any third parties on the Apple device dedicated to using Apple Pay;
• sign in to the Wallet application and execute transactions exclusively by yourselfapplication and execute transactions exclusively by yourself;
• notify the Bank without delay that the data required to use Apple Pay have been lost, stolen or intercepted or of any unauthorized use of Apple Pay.

At present, the Bank makes it possible to add only Mastercard cards to Apple Pay.

In the case of an attempt to add a card that is not supported by the Bank (for example a VISA card) to the Wallet app, the message will appear: “This issuer does not offer a card that supports Apple Pay at the moment”.

Please remember that the same card can be added on many devices, but the limit of tokens on all the digital wallets for the same card (including the removed ones) is 40. A token removed from Apple Pay will be kept for 540 days – the time to claim a chargeback.

First go to the Apple support website and check if you can add a card in your current region (country). If not, go to Settings > General > Language & region > Region and change it to Poland.

• Are you trying to add a Mastercard card issued by Bank Handlowy w Warszawie S.A. ?
• Is the Mastercard card active (not frozen / not blocked / valid), activated (after the first transaction made using the PIN code) and is the contactless payment option on (it is on by default)?
• Were the card data read correctly by the phone or did you make an error when entering the data manually?
• Is the region/country set on your phone supported, e.g. Poland? (Settings > General > Language and region)
• Do you have a good and stable Internet connection?
• Did you exceed the limit of 5 attempts to add the same card?
• Did you enter the verification code correctly? (if you received the code on a different phone than the one on which you are trying to add a card)
• Are you signed in to iCloud/Apple ID on your device?
• Is the limit set for payment cards (of any bank) added to Wallet on this device exceeded?

In the Wallet app, tap on the card and click the small "i" icon in the bottom-right corner. The “remove card” option is at the bottom of the screen.

In the Wallet app, after selecting the card, you may see maximum of 10 transactions done with Apple Pay using that device (the history of transactions made using your other Apple devices will not be visible). You can see the place of your payment and the amount and date of your transaction.

Please remember that Apple Pay shows transactions not older than 30 days.

To access full history of transactions you shall log into Citibank Online and there you will select the card and see the history of your account. In the transactions history Apple Pay transactions are identified by letter A and four digits i.e. “A1234” – where “A” means Apple Pay and “1234” are four digits of the token number.

A token is the virtual representation of a payment card stored on a device, in the so-called “secure element,” access to which is very limited.

You control a token to the same extent you can control your card. You can block a token temporarily, unblock it or remove it from Apple Wallet.

As in the case of a regular card with contactless payment option, a card added to Apple Pay does not require Internet connection to make payments. However, you need Internet connection to add a card in the Wallet or Citi Mobile app (i.e. to enable card payments via Apple Pay) – such connection is required to verify the data you have entered and to authorize that process.

If such representative has an active card issued to the account for his or her name, he or she may add it to Apple Pay.

Go to Settings on the iPad. Open “Wallet & Apple Pay” and select “Add a credit/debit card”. Enter the card details using the iPad camera or manually. Confirm with the authorization code sent to the telephone number set as your Main mobile telephone number.

You may add a card to an Apple Watch in the Watch app available on iPhones.

You can pay with your watch if:

• you unlock it with your code; or
• you unlock the iPhone paired with the watch – if you have accepted this functionality in your settings.

Open System Preferences on your MacBook. Open “Wallet & Apple Pay” and select “Add another card”. Scan the card details using the MacBook Pro camera and enter them manually. Confirm with the authorization code sent to the telephone number set as your Main mobile telephone number.

Yes, if, apart from the Android-enabled device, your trusted list includes a device running iOS that meets the Apple requirements for Apple Wallet. On your Android device you can use your Mastercard card on the phone in Google Pay and on your iOS phone you may use Apple Pay.

You cannot add a card to Apple Wallet if the Bank has not provided such option for that card, the card is not active (for example it has been closed, frozen or blocked) or you do not meet other conditions (for example, you have not given the Bank your consent to provide transaction data to Apple or you do not have internet connection). In some cases, a card cannot be added due to security reasons, for example the device lacks an original operating system.

If your Apple Watch is paired with an iPhone, it seems you did not unlock your watch before the process to add a card was started. Unlock the Apple Watch and try to add a card again.

Apple Pay can be used when the device lock is set on the device and (optionally) biometric readers (Face ID or Touch ID) are used.

In the case of majority of POS terminals, the card PIN code is not required to accept transactions, however it depends on the POS setup how transactions should be authorized. Please remember that Apple Pay payments can only be made after the device is correctly unlocked.

To make a payment using an Apple Watch, you have to unlock the watch first:

• enter the watch PIN code on your Apple Watch; or
• unlock the iPhone paired with the watch – if you have accepted this functionality in your settings.

The bank sends Apple information on Apple Pay transactions such as transaction amounts, transaction currencies, transaction dates and times, transaction types, transaction statuses, names and addresses of stores/service providers, categories of stores/service providers, designations and names of categories of business activity of stores/service providers.

This is the main card you use automatically to pay via Apple Pay. You can change your default card at any time.

In order to change your default card go to the Wallet application and move the image of the card you want to use to pay to the top of the screen. It will be visible as the first card on the main screen of Wallet payments.

You may change the default card in the phone settings and in “Wallet & Apple Pay”. You can also change your default card in the phone settings after selecting the Apple Wallet option.

In Apple Watch, you can change the default card either on the watch or in the Watch app on your phone.

You will see the symbol that a transaction was correct whether it has been authorized or rejected. This symbol shows that the card was correctly read out by the terminal, and not that the transaction was executed.

If the terminal has rejected a transaction, this means it could not be booked (no funds on the account or another error).

There are two possible reasons:

You have turned off contactless payments on your plastic card. In this case, you may still pay on the Internet and in applications. If you want to make contactless payments, turn on such payments for your card.

The card added to Apple Wallet is active, but you have not made a contact transaction by your plastic. This makes it impossible to execute contactless transactions. Make at least one contact transaction with your plastic card and try again to pay in Apple Wallet.
Debit card added to Apple Pay may not have internet payments option enabled. In such case you may still make Apple Pay transactions at POS, but in order to make transactions in application or internet you have to enable this function either in Citibank Online od CitiPhone.

Transaction limits in Apple Pay and for the payment card are the same. Limits for credit cards are determined in the Transaction Limit table and for debit cards in Table of Fees and Commissions: Accounts and Credit Line for Individual Clients.

You can call CitiPhone to remove or block the token on your device. You may also remove or block the token via iCloud.

You may block your card in Citibank Online or by calling CitiPhone.

You can also remove your card via iCloud:

1. Sign in on icloud.com/find on a Mac or PC or use the Find My iPhone app on another iPhone, an iPad or iPod touch.
2. Find your device. Turn on the Lost Mode. In the Lost Mode, you can remotely lock your device using a four-digit code, display on the screen your own message with a contact phone number and track your device on a map.
3. If you have a credit, debit or prepaid card added to Apple Pay, Apple Pay payments will be suspended after the device is switched to the Lost Mode.
4. Erase the device. In order to prevent anyone from accessing data on your lost device, you can erase that device remotely. Such erasure will delete all data from that device (including the credit, debit or prepaid cards added to Apple Pay) and will make it impossible to keep locating the device using the Find My iPhone service.

A lost device can be switched to the Lost Mode , locked or remotely erased even if it is turned off or not connected to the network. Those actions will become effective when the device connects with the network.

No, these are two different tokens.

No, a removed card cannot be unlocked.

There can be a few reasons:

• You are trying to add a card that is not offered for Apple Pay, for example a prepaid card.
• You have entered incorrect card details (e.g. an incorrect CVV code). Check if the card details are correct, correct them if necessary and try again.
• You are trying to add an inactive card (e.g. after renewal). Make a transaction using the plastic card in an ATM or store – in the contact mode, with your PIN code.
• The region in your phone settings is not Poland. Change the settings and try again.

If you enter incorrect card details five times in a row, we will block the card adding function. You will have to contact CitiPhone if that actually happens.

No. A token is not a separate payment instrument. If a card is blocked, the token will be blocked too and Apple Pay transactions will be impossible to make. After you blocked your card, wait for the new one, activate it and add it to Apple Wallet if you want to use it in Apple Pay.

Yes, you may add a removed card again.

The card will be deleted from Apple Watch.

You may unlock your Apple Watch in two ways:

• enter the watch PIN code on your Apple Watch; or
• unlock the iPhone paired with the watch – if you have accepted this functionality in your settings. If such option is turned on, you have to remember that every unlocking of your iPhone will also unlock your Apple Watch for payments.
