The program was inaugurated by a debate at the National Stadium

The initiative connected unprecedented groups: from representatives of public institutions, including Minister Jacek Rostowski and Deputy Prime Minister Janusz Piechociński in the lead, to the world of business represented by presidents of the largest Polish companies (PKN Orlen, KGHM, Asseco, Polsat, PGE, PZU, etc.).

The President of Citi Handlowy, Sławomir S. Sikora commented:
"I can see two key elements in economic patriotism. Firstly - activities stimulating the development of Polish companies, and this should be supported by the search for new selling markets for Polish products and investments, meaning a broadly understood expansion of Polish companies abroad. This is about Polish enterprises gaining the status of a reliable and prospective business partner in international markets, not only being perceived as sellers, but also having an opportunity to implement long-term investments. I am saying this from the perspective of a company with global experience which uses its international know-how, among other things, to promote Polish companies in international markets. Under the Emerging Markets Champions program, we are helping Polish enterprises find their feet abroad, but we also support and encourage international companies to invest in Poland. And, in my opinion, this is the second important element (...)".
